Make Believe

Make Believe applies the trope of ‘the cave’ to the gallery space, relating the installation experience to a ritualised inter-dimensional portal to a suggested underworld or psychological shift. Talitha Kennedy’s creature-like black leather soft forms descend into the gallery evocative of other presences or guarding monsters. Min Wong perspex objects and resin casts read as synthesized organic forms conjuring stalagmites from the underworld. An installation of aspirational failure to reach the other side.
